Remember the Fallen

In Western Flanders is where it began

The greatest loss ever known of man

To go there now you’d never know

As row upon row of poppies grow

Red petals they have for the blood that was shed

With a black centrepiece for those mourning the dead

It became a symbol from the fields where they roam

Remembering heroes who never came home

Too many heroes have died both woman and man

From the beaches at Normandy to Afghanastan

At eleven o’clock the eleventh of November

Have two minutes silence and try and remember

It’s a time to be seen not a time to hide

Wearing your poppy with honour and pride

So raise a glass if you’re out with your mate

And honour the fallen who made Britain Great
